JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Sales Strategy and the Director, Retail Sales Strategy & Planning, the Specialist, Retail Sales Strategy provides sales strategy support on a dynamic Snacks and Appetizers portfolio. This includes managing day-to-day reporting and analytics, planning cycle, pricing and promotional strategy, and enablement of sell-in of customer plans and initiatives for this portfolio. This role represents a learning opportunity and is a stepping stone to more senior roles in Sales / Sales Strategy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Strategy

  • In collaboration with Marketing, develop, communicate and support execution of sales plans and strategy for the Snacks and Appetizers (SnApps) portfolio of Canadian retail business unit.
  • Identify development gaps, strategic and tactical business opportunities for the portfolio and then create and execute specific action plans to address them
  • Lead development and sell-in of Customer plans for SnApps
  • Develop sales tools/materials to enable successful sell-in of key initiatives in collaboration with Marketing, Insights and Category Development team
  • Manage monthly and YTD business performance and trade spend reporting and recommend appropriate corrective actions to deliver annual plans and KPIs for the SnApps portfolio
  • Support the integrated sales planning and consensus process, as well as, reporting and analytics across all categories
  • Assist with the preparation of Canadian Leadership Team Reporting, Trade Spend reporting and other day to day reports and analytics for the entire business
  • Support Frozen Potato business along with, and in the absence of, the Sr. Manager, Retail Sales Strategy and Operations

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:

  • Timely development, communication, and execution of category plans and innovation to the sales teams to enable sell-in for SnApps portfolio
  • Execution of aligned pricing, promotion and overall category strategy for SnApps
  • Delivery of AOC on target in accordance with KPIs for profitable business growth in Canadian Retail
  • Strong working relationships with key cross-functional partners in Marketing, Finance, Systems, etc.

KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Consumers Packaged Goods with customer-facing experience
  • Problem solving and analytical skills (working knowledge of Nielsen data is an asset)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in working with data sets and reports
  • Good communication skills, ability to influence multiple stakeholders

  • Key internal relationships: Brand Manager(s), Finance, Customer Development teams
  • Key external relationships: Canadian Retail customers
  • Travel; 2-4 domestic trips per year
  • Job is primarily performed in a standard office environment
