The Marketing Specialist
- Marsh Specialty, will be responsible for growth and retention marketing communications to Marsh Specialty clients and prospective clients with a strong focus on client experience and content development/management, for both internal and external audiences.
Marketing's purpose is to deliver meaningful client and colleague experiences through sales, marketing and communications by partnering with the business to help drive measurable retention and growth. The Marketing Specialist
- Marsh Specialty, will work with the regional Marketing team and business leaders, Global Specialty Marketing colleagues and other key stakeholders; to develop and implement marketing and communications strategy. They will ensure regional consistency with global Specialty business segments including; Aviation, Marine and Cargo, Financial and Professional Liability (FINPRO), Credit Specialties, Construction and Surety, Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (PEMA), Energy and Power.
The purpose of the role is to work in partnership with sales to create and deliver powerful, compelling marketing campaigns and content which support growth, retention and sales engagement needs. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for executing regional marketing and communications strategies and tactics.
In this role you will also work closely with the other marketing colleagues, globally; to ensure campaigns are activated in Canada. You will provide oversight of campaigns, designed to support local growth initiatives.
Ultimately the success of the role will be determined by its contribution to delivering on the Marsh Specialty growth and retention targets.
The role reports directly to the Marketing Manager for Marsh Canada. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong consultative and advisor relationships across the global marketing network and within Marsh Specialty including the sales leadership team.

We will count on you to:
Develop, implement, manage and report on proactive, integrated, and compelling marketing and client communications strategies that drive lead generation, growth, and retention for Marsh Specialty in Canada
Partner with business development teams including the National Specialties Growth Leader, Sales Operations and other global and regional stakeholders to align marketing with key strategies and key growth initiatives
Manage routine marketing and communications projects to promote business objectives. Interface with internal teams to effectively execute all components of the marketing plan for implementation
Provide assistance and tactical support in the development of marketing strategy by line of business
Develop client thought leadership, including digital media, articles, white papers, and newsletters
Coordinate and facilitate internal and external experiences with Marsh Specialty subject matter experts for colleagues, and to nurture clients and prospects
Localize global marketing campaigns (including content and events) for the region to ensure consistency of message and standardization of visual identity
Engage with business leaders to activate marketing strategy for associations, conferences, external speaking events and other opportunities to promote Marsh Specialty offering and brand purpose
Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing in respect to areas such as engagement, pipeline stage and ROI
Help establish and maintain consistent corporate image and purpose propositions
Develop and coordinate the execution of surveys and questionnaires and analyze the data collected from these methods to draw upon client insight
Work with Internal Communications, as well as regional marketers, to ensure that Sales Enablement messaging and timing supports and reinforces wider Marsh and Marsh Specialty communications strategy
Develop and manage a calendar of marketing activities for the Marsh Specialty segments which ensures there is a considered, impactful and sustainable flow of marketing activities to support each campaign and are timed having consideration for other internal and external communications
What you need to have:
5-7 years of related marketing experience
Experience in delivering impactful content-driven campaigns in rapidly-changing, regulated industry which is technologically dynamic
Experience in technology in general, including Microsoft 365, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Salesforce tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and information
Ability to write articles and promotional materials that conform to prescribed style and format
Strong organizational skills in prioritizing work, multi-tasking, and consistently meeting deadlines
Effective team player
What makes you stand out:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from College or university
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills on both technical and non-technical matters, including the ability to write clear and concise content and collateral &/or edit content provided by the broader business &/or subject matter experts
Marketing Automation Experience (particularly Pardot) highly desirable
Knowledge of the French language a plus
Hands-on experience with marketing and communications technologies/channels, including marketing automation and social media
Ability to understand, tailor and communicate complex business, legal and technical issues for various audiences
Well organized and self-motivated with proven ability to work to deadlines and manage projects to meet defined KPIs
A confident and dynamic personality with the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
Relevant industry or insurance experience would be a strong advantage
