Position Summary

Reporting to the Principal, the Graphic Designer provides fully integrated support to teachers in regards to curriculum delivery, authentic learning opportunities, extracurricular activities, special events, and school communications.


  • designing templates and other resources for the School, Catchment, and Community Centre
  • supporting communications between home and school through the development of visuals that will assist students, parents, the community, and school council
  • managing digital files including video and photographs
  • designing and illustrating as required for school and classroom use
  • working with the school's faculty and students to ensure branding meets the Division's guidelines
  • supporting High School faculty growth in regards to fine arts and other innovative programming through the creative use of software and technologies
  • providing arts-based mentorship and support to students identified as at risk
  • supervising students within the Learning Commons when using specialized equipment or software
  • providing job-embedded professional learning sessions inside/outside the regular school day for students and faculty
  • coordinating and budgeting for art supplies, resources, materials, and equipment
  • supporting the arts extension by leading and supervising students in extra-curricular delivery such as animation club, comic illustration club
  • conducting specialized equipment safety orientations for staff and students
  • seeking mentors and outside experts to serve as guest presenters, lecturers, or artists in residence
  • coordinating artifacts and design for showcases and legacy displays
  • creating and storing digital archives of the school's opening with Archives and Museums


  • diploma in Graphic Design/Visual Communication
  • minimum of three years related experience including print and digital production, information design, project management
  • experience working in an educational environment
  • excellent communication skills
  • experience working with mentoring and coaching youth

Rate of Pay


  • $3,106.60 bi-weekly
