Vice President, Communications & Branding

Brookfield seeks a Vice President, Communications to support Brookfield's communications, primarily for its Infrastructure, Renewable Power and Private Equity businesses. This includes global media relations, issues management, and other communications strategies. Based in Toronto, the successful candidate will report into the Senior Vice President, Communications.

  • Support the development and implementation of a global communications plan for Brookfield's Infrastructure, Renewable Power and Private Equity businesses
  • Draft press releases, key messages, and other written content to support the telling of our story to key audiences
  • Proactively pursue strategic opportunities for media engagement / interviews globally, aligned with business objectives
  • Provide counsel to business CEOs and their teams, as well as portfolio company CEOs, on communications opportunities, messaging and issues
  • Actively manage reputational issues through effective messaging and Q&A development, media engagement, and internal communications
  • Develop and maintain relationships with journalists from relevant publications globally
  • Act as media spokesperson as necessary
  • Partner with business IR teams to develop investor-focused key messages and positioning in line with business objectives
  • Partner with regional Communications teams to ensure alignment of messaging and PR strategies
  • Be an integral and active member of global communications team
  • partnering closely with all groups


  • 10+ years of experience in PR/Communications
  • Track record of acting as a communications advisor through demonstrating an understanding of key business drivers, communications knowledge and judgment
  • Ability to architect media relations strategies and pick up the phone to reporters;
  • Superb writing skills
  • Understanding of global media contexts and dynamics
  • Deep expertise in managing and mitigating reputational issues
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Financial services experience is strongly preferred
