Role Mandate:

The Senior Director, Health and Wellness Marketing is a key strategic partner to the Health & Wellness, and Pharmacy leaders in the LCL enterprise. They are accountable for creating and executing the brand and marketing strategies for the health & wellness products and services offered by our divisional banners (including Pharmacy Services, Dieticians, PC Health, Wellwise, and Beauty Clinic). They provide strategic marketing support for the Pharmacy and Connected Health Care teams, accountable to build and execute marketing programs that attract new customers, expand their overall relationships with the LCL enterprise, and increase the health of the retail and control brands within this portfolio. They lead the development of long term brand marketing strategies that when executed effectively communicate and enhance our competitive advantages, improve our brand health and help to drive the achievement of profitable sales targets and share gains.

Accountabilities:

  • Leads the development of the full year marketing plans and integrated marketing campaigns with internal and external partners that drive sales, improve ROI and drive market share growth.
  • Proactively aligns the organization and drives the marketing strategy and execution to drive the growth of the assigned division/category in-store and in digital.
  • Working collaboratively with the marketing teams, cross functional teams and centres of excellence, to bring the best of the enterprise to the Health & Wellness portfolio.
  • Leads a co-ordinated effort with the divisional marketing and LD teams to ensure that programs can be executed in-store and online, within the operational guidelines from each division.

  • collaborates with the product and research teams to build a pipeline of innovation that has consumer validated propositions, and strong go to market plans.
  • Be the champion of brands and customer experiences. Ensure effective communication and understanding of brand objectives, initiatives, and vision across the organization, to ensure seamless transition of execution and implementation
  • Leads the team to deliver briefs that create world class creative, with shared accountability for creative execution results. Is accountable for building strong working relationships with execution partners both internal and external.
  • Manages programs within the required compliance and work process guidelines, looks for opportunity to improve work processes and increase agility without compromising compliance.
  • Continuously works towards improving marketing ROI through the identification of opportunities, both cost savings and business building. Leverages strong management of financial reporting, business analysis and post mortems. Ensures the marketing budget is managed in accordance with best practices.
  • Lead a team of highly skilled marketers, and contribute to their development. Ensure clarity of team roles, goal setting and contribute to the overall marketing culture and talent development efforts.
  • Ensures that critical insights from brand dashboards, analysis of consumer, brand and competitor information is translated to insightful plans, opportunities and briefs that will continue to build inspiring, differentiated mega brands. Collaborates with the Customer COE, DI&A and key stakeholders to build annual research and measurement plans.

Role Requirements :

  • University or college degree in business, marketing or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
  • 10-15 years or more of relevant work experience in healthcare product and service marketing environment . Preferable with experience in a classical CPG environment.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading a team or having direct reports
  • Excellent organizational, planning and problem solving skills
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of marketing disciplines including marketing analytics and technology.
  • Proven track record of successful brand management and digital marketing transformation.
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Experience in matrix organization
