The Calgary Parking Authority (CPA) is committed to building strong communities by providing outstanding customer service and exceptional parking experiences. The CPA fulfills The City of Calgary's parking mandate and implements the municipality's parking policies by managing on and off-street public parking facilities, ensuring parking safety and compliance, and providing parking advisory services.

We are looking for a Communications Advisor who will collaborate with internal and external clients to develop and implement communication strategies that support CPA projects and initiatives. The Communications Advisor supports media relations, Ward Office communication, and event management to enhance the CPA's reputation in the Calgary community.

Responsibilities

Work with clients to proactively identify projects; develop and execute communication strategies.

Monitor media coverage, respond to media inquiries, and develop key messages and media releases.

Act as the primary liaison with Ward Offices; lead Ward Office information sessions and answer Ward inquiries on behalf of the CPA.

Write, edit and produce external and internal content including newsletters, annual Report to the Community, intranet posts and web content.

Manage the CPA's social media channels as required to emphasize customer service excellence.

Measure and evaluate communication strategies and events.

Actively mentor and support junior communications staff.

FOIP training and experience would be a definite asset.

Competencies

To be successful in this position, you must possess exceptional written and verbal communication, relationship building, planning and organizational skills. You are also team and detail oriented with a focus on time management and quality content.

Hours of Work This position works a 35 hour work week.

Compensation Exempt Level D ($63,700

  • $94,920)
