Immediate Manager: Brand Manager

Direct Reports: None

Schedule: 3 days/24 hours per week (flexible schedule options possible) with opportunity to move to full-time role after 6 months

Purpose of the Job

The Trade Marketing Coordinator provides administrative support to the Brand Manager on Trade Marketing & Procurement activities. This individual will also lead the Left Coast Demo Program with our vendor partners by working with contracted demo companies.

Trade Marketing Support:

  • Aid in the promotions process
  • o Create & update brand planners, forms & monthly deal cover pages

o Review promotion decks for accuracy

o Ideate, secure & distribute promotion incentives

  • Collect, label & organize sales photos for ease of sharing with external parties
  • Prepare & distribute reports for Vendors & End Users
  • Assist in preparing for the annual CHFA trade show
  • o Secure equipment & services

o Responsible for organizing the social event (30+ guests)

o Ensure needs for the booth arrive prior to show time

  • Recommend & implement enhancements to current procedures that will improve operational effectiveness

Procurement Support:

  • Help source potential brands through on-line sources and in person research
  • Update brand information and status updates on trackers
  • Work with the Brand Manager and Vendors on to onboard newly launched brands
  • o Adheres to the launch checklist & report back on status updates

o Review listing forms for accuracy

o Prepare & submit forms to the launch the brand

o Collect & organize assets

  • Create & update the trade show calendar
  • o Confirm participation with the procurement team

o Aid attendees with preparation for their trip with bookings & research

  • Unbox samples and distribute to procurement and sales teams
  • Prepare ingredient reviews to determine compliance to government guidelines

Demo Program Coordination:

  • Build excitement and trial for our brands through in-store retail demos across Western Canada
  • Participate in annual planning with Brand Manager and Sales Team
  • Hire, train and manage Brand Ambassador sampling team and/ or agency
  • Work closely with the Sales Team and Retail Partners to ensure product for demos is in-stock and on-deal during the sampling programs
  • Handle all areas of demo activations including staffing, visual presence, marketing materials from brands, product, logistics, shipping, and invoicing
  • Monthly demo reporting and post-event analysis to track ROI and inform future strategy recommendations for sales, promotions, marketing, and merchandising

Performs additional duties as needed/assigned

Qualifications:

  • Interest in organic and natural foods. Familiar with the natural health food industry landscape
  • University or College degree in business/marketing preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years in an administration role
  • Minimum of two (2) years implementing demos or events
  • Proficiency with MS Office required
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and quality
  • Strong planning skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
