As our Community Relations Manager, you'll work on a great team to develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with local communities. You'll support FortisBC's corporate initiatives and major projects by keeping them on schedule and budget while seeking opportunities to enhance our corporate reputation. You'll help to achieve necessary municipal and regulatory approvals, understand and mitigate public concerns, and explore mutually beneficial opportunities withlocal communities through initiatives and major projects. You'll do all this by partnering with key stakeholders to build healthy and long-lasting relationships. In this role, you will:
Develop strategic, stakeholder consultation plans.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to implement strategies to minimize project-related impacts to local communities.
Brief senior management on issues and provide recommendations.
Establish and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and elected officials.
Manage stakeholder consultation budgets, and respond to/address questions and concerns from community members. In year 1, you will:
Understand the goals of our initiatives and major projects and become an integral part of the team by building open, honest and respectful relationships.
Set our initiatives and major projects up for success by developing strategic plans, gathering input on project plans from local communities, and building mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships.
Introduce and negotiate agreements with local community stakeholders. In year 2, you will:
Continue to negotiate and execute agreements with local community stakeholders
Solicit community feedback and incorporate it into project development and planning
Solidify yourself as the trusted face within local communitiesso that you can effectively listen to and respond to public concerns and opportunities. What it takes:
