Position Summary:

The Corporate Communications Lead is responsible for the development and implementation of Sanofi Canada's strategic external corporate reputation plan. The incumbent will be reporting to the Head of Communications Sanofi Canada.

Their responsibilities encompass corporate communications, corporate social responsibility, media relations including social media responsibility and issues/crisis management. This individual will work in close collaboration with the head of communications and communications colleagues. Overall, the incumbent will lead corporate communications files to ensure, maintain and enhance Sanofi's corporate reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with our business units and External Affairs, the incumbent will design, implement, monitors and assesses integrated corporate external communications strategies and programs through various channels to enhance Sanofi Canada's reputation.

Responsible to develop and implement strategic and cross-functionally aligned media and public relations programs to enhance Sanofi Canada's visibility and reputation and ensure the company meets its strategic business goals.

Responsible to update and maintain the Sanofi Canada web site and become proficient in the site's content management system.

Liaise and collaborate with communication colleague responsible for digital communications to align corporate positioning efforts in social media channels, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Provide communications support to Public Affairs on policy issues and/or public activities.

Ability to develop core communication materials to support issues management situations.

Liaise with key internal stakeholders and act as spokesperson on specific issues when required.

Implement the company's current Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan.

Act as the main point of contact and ensure success and visibility for its Bio genius Program.

Responsible for the continuous development and review of the company's CSR strategy for Canada and determine how to best leverage CSR activities.

Represent Communications on the employee led CSR committee and ensure activities are aligned with company philosophy.

Manage CSR donations and sponsorships.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Communications or Journalism or related field. Consideration will be given to someone with a Master's degree in Business or Marketing.

At least 10 yrs experience in a Communication role , with demonstrated experience in corporate reputation management, issues management, media relations.

Experience within the pharma industry is an asset.

Experience in corporate social responsibility is an asset.

Agency experience is an asset.

Media relations/spokesperson experience and knowledge.

Exceptional writing skills, creative thinker who thinks outside the box.

A driver with high level of professionalism, strong work ethic and the ability to balance multiple assignments.

A collaborator and a strong team player with demonstrated ability to cooperate transversally to optimize results.

A relationship builder.

Excellent interpersonal skills to proactively network with senior executives and peers.

A solution-oriented, problem-solving approach to challenges.

Ability to clearly develop strategies, define objectives and execute/coordinate.

Strong strategic, oral and written communication skills with the ability to foster clear information exchanges with various audiences.

Ability to integrate digital media strategies when permissible.

Ability to handle multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously.

Strategic skills and good knowledge of product PR strategies.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and ability to learn internal approval systems for communications materials.
