Administrative Assistant II (Casual)
The University of Lethbridge is currently seeking a casual (hourly) Administrative Assistant II for approximately 4-week assignment to begin as soon as possible. This role will report to the Assistant Dean, Field Experiences in the Faculty of Education. The primary function of this position is to assist in the maintenance of communication with students, faculty, school administrators, teachers, parents, and university personnel in the process of making placements in schools.
As well, the position provides administrative assistance to the Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Programs, including matters of a confidential and privileged nature. This position assists in the management of information within the department using various methodologies and software products and demands excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, high levels of detail orientation, and the ability to work independently with a strong sense of customer service.
The position requires the ability to work in a team environment, maintaining effective working relationships with university staff and the education sector, particularly when problem solving, multi-tasking, creativity, and flexibility are required.
This position requires extreme adaptability as duties vary from day to day, depending on situations that arise.
Hourly Rate: $29.24/hour
The successful candidate will have a two-year Office Administration or comparable diploma and a minimum of three years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven administrative skills (including proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, basic financial transactions, on-line tools, and web site updating), with great attention to detail and accuracy are required, as are excellent communication, organizational, record-keeping, filing and telephone skills.
The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with interruptions and overlapping deadlines, and exercising independent judgement, while maintaining effective working relationships within the University community.
