Job Description


The Regional HR Manager, Canada acts as the Canada HR expert, keeping up to date with labour laws, governance and compliance with local, Provincial and Federal regulations and is the key point of contact for governmental or other regulatory agencies in Canada. This role oversees a broad array of HR functions including workforce planning and organizational development; performance ownership; guiding local and remote managers in HR related issues; and performing investigations. This position ensures alignment with Group, Division and corporate policy, goals, and objectives. Reporting to this position are Canadian-based HR Generalists with some remote management.


Work in collaboration with the Zurn HR Group, Business Unit leadership and associates to ensure division, group and corporate goals are achieved.

Serves as trusted advisor to provide group and on-on-one development and coaching with leaders and managers as well as associates to support leadership development, business decision-making, corrective actions, rewards and recognition, problem solving and performance ownership.

Plays an integral role in the leadership review and succession process working closely with the business leaders on selecting, developing, and upgrading talent within the organization to improve effectiveness and enhance bench strength.

Disability management (STD/LTD, leaves of absence, and WSIB in tandem with EHS)

Coordinate performance ownership activities including IDPs, goal setting, annual review, bonus/merit increase process as well as training for Managers/Supervisors and associates

Partners with the business and company resources to resolve any litigation or legal issues

Actively engages in communications with other HR team members around best practices and identifies opportunities to create consistency / alignment

Assist with researching, designing, and implementing corporate standard programs and policies that drive innovation, employee engagement and leadership development and improves overall performance for supported business groups while maintaining compliance with applicable employment legislation

Continuously improve and streamline business processes to ensure efficiency in the department and organization

Ensure labour and employee relations actions are aligned with Total Associate Engagement (TAE) objectives and action plans are in place to improve engagement

Make recommendations for improvement to benefit programs and participate in benefit and pension meetings / committees

Provide change management strategies for associates affected by mergers and acquisitions

Mentor, coach and develop HR team members for future growth

Key point of contact for tactical HR issues for the Burlington location

  • Diploma/degree in Human Resource Management field or equivalent experience required, CHRL preferred
  • 5-7 years progressive Human Resources experience is required with 3+ years leadership experience
  • Work experience in multi-site, international, multi-functional organizations preferred
  • Work experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Union experience an asset
  • Well versed in Canadian HR regulations, expert level in Ontario
  • Ability to travel - 25%
