Distribution Centre HR Manager, (Greater Toronto Area)

Overall Job Function: The DC HR Manager will lead the DC HR team to ensure the people strategy and secure quality employee lifecycle to support the operations of the DC. You will ensure performance is measured and track employee lifecycle KPI's, budget management and ensure legal compliance and adherence to Group and local standards. You will ensure to meet the needs of key collaboration partners in DC. With your bigger perspective with a visionary approach, you will encourage collaboration and people development by empowering others.

Job Responsibility

(including but not limited to):

Manage the people strategy for the DC. Manage the team to create conditions for people which will enable the people to achieve short-term and long-term business goals.

Manage, guide and lead DC HR team on local HR matters to ensure a quality employee lifecycle.

Manage the DC HR budget in line with regional budget framework

Secure negotiation - local agreements, scheduling, contract structure, compensation & benefits.

Responsible for Employee relations in the DC and to ensure all people-related matters are carried out according to local labor law and regulations

Assess DC workforce needs and set targets for recruitment and mobility together with operations and controlling.

Be the voice of the people in the organization, promoting I &D, the H&M Group values & culture

Ensure employee safety, well-being, and commitment to H&M group's approach to Human Rights

Support and implement local change initiatives (e.g. organization changes, expansion projects, closures, vendor mgmt.)

Raise local needs to regional and global level to enable the design and development of globally oriented, but locally requested solutions

Actively participate in global program roll outs

Qualifications

Minimum Candidate Qualifications :

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or management related field or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience as an HR generalist and active participation in labor negotiations preferred

3+ years supervising staff

Experience in overseeing multi-site locations

Familiarity with HR function in a distribution center is strongly preferred

What you need to succeed

Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication

Ability to work independently and in a high pressure, multi-unit, fast-paced, and deadline-oriented environment.

Must have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of human resources and employment practices (selection, interviewing, job evaluations, contract administration.

Excellent organizational skills- effective time management, ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow-up
