What We Will Ask of You:

Reporting to the CEO, you are a key member of our Senior Leadership team; the Manager plays an important role. You will lead and supervise the Central Navigation (CN) team of 5 full-time staff and on most days you'll be leading Canopy's brand recognition strategy, communication and community engagement plans, grant and proposal writing and fundraising initiatives as you work with your Lead Specialist to direct and guide a team of Specialists and Administrative staff. The CN team fosters relationships within the community as well as internally within Canopy's teams creating synergies across the agency's intake processes and multiple databases to support efficient and effective operations amongst service areas. The Manager ensures that best practices are followed and quality service is delivered while enhancing the overall quality of life and independence for individual's accessing services.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Lead a team of 5 staff to set clear goals and objectives that are in keeping with the Canopy Vision, Mission, Core Values and Strategic Directions and uphold the mandate of the individual programs. Work in collaboration with the CN Lead to ensure systems, plans, tools and resources are in place so that the teams can work efficiently towards team goals.
  • Create and implement Canopy's Brand recognition strategy in consultation with stakeholders to increase awareness of Canopy's culture, services and supports within the appropriate sectors and communities. Align initiatives with Canopy's values, vision and mission statement.
  • Create and lead Canopy's external communication plan on Social Media platforms and other external media sources. Coordinate the distribution of media materials to appropriate outlets in an efficient and effective manner. Maintain and update Canopy's website for program information, services, special events and partner information.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Leadership teams to develop and implement an ethical fundraising strategy in line with agency strategic plan and directives. Research, identify and realize potential sources of funding.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure maximum efficiency as well as maximum Client/family satisfaction to create program flows. Monitor and control the current Central Intake process through planning, consistent data collection and implementation of required changes.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor Degree in a related field, such as Social Services or Business or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with Children, Youth and/or Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other diagnosis.
  • 1-3 years of experience in not for profit organization, fundraising development and marketing
  • 1+ years in Event Planning and Social Media experience.
  • Annual completion of a Criminal Background Check/Declaration, including Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships with team members, community partners and other stakeholders
  • Compassionate and responsible supporter of people, their families, and community partners
  • Commitment to maximize resources and improve people's quality of life
  • Valid G-Class driver's license for the Province of Ontario, access to reliable transportation and have valid proof of automobile insurance with driving for business purposes and a minimum liability of two million dollars

Salary: $69,719.72-$88,217.68 per year
