The Ass't Marketing Manager (Analyst) role falls within Global Merchant Services (GMS), part of the GMNS Organization, which is the merchant network at American Express that manages the relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express Cards. GMS serves as a merchant acquirer, payments processor and marketing partner for merchants of all sizes, including small, regional, national and global businesses.

Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing & Analytics is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing & Analytics is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Cardmembers at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

As the Marketing Marketing Manager (Analyst), Perception of Coverage (POC), you will be responsible for the end-to end campaign management of Amex offers including contactless, grocery and domestic/international travel programs, in addition to product management of POC assets such as Amex Maps, the Online Merchant Directory and Custom POP.

The successful candidate will bring a strong customer first mindset along with a proven ability to collaborate and drive results among a diverse stakeholder group, providing insights-driven strategic thought leadership through marketing excellence, and operating as a trusted marketing consultant to differentiate our network and support GMS Canada to achieve its business priorities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ownership of select Amex Offers and POP assets from a Cardmember and merchant experience, eligibility, campaign performance, budget optimization and driving KPIs toward merchant and Cardmember engagement (POC, unique redeemers, merchant funded offer metrics etc.)
  • Influence product strategy through data analytics to create insights that drive and inform coverage marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Collaborate with campaign measurement team to develop regular reports to measure and analyze the performance of key business metrics, and recommend and implement strategic actions and solutions
  • Leverage best practices from other regions and influencing central teams on market capability
  • Partner with issuers to drive channel optimization and adoption of POC assets
  • Partner with Client Management team to drive Amex Offers and Custom POP sell-in

  • University Degree or equivalent combination of education and business experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in progressive development and management of marketing/communication campaigns, including testing strategies, analyzing business opportunities, recommending and implementing actions
  • Superior communication and influencing skills, analytical skills will be highly regarded
  • Project management skills - flawless campaign execution with keen attention to details
  • Ability to operate productively and independently in a fast moving, high energy environment and juggle many priorities at once and manage timelines.
  • Strong people leadership acumen, business management skills and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships, and take initiative, champion a project from conception through implementation to evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with external customers, business partners and delivering compelling programs and results.
