The Assistant Marketing Manager, Search, will be responsible for the success of our paid and organic search efforts, with a focus on maintaining profitable consumer card acquisition.

Working with a wide group of stakeholders across local and central acquisition teams, the successful candidate will lean on their subject matter expertise, relationship-building skills, and comfort with analytics to effectively execute initiatives spanning Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies. This role will manage a multi-million-dollar budget with a continued mandate to ensure efficiency while growing, innovating and evolving our search acquisition strategy to drive results.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead the execution of Search Engine Marketing campaigns across Google, Bing and other emerging paid search partners
  • Ensure flawless ongoing channel management including planning, reviews and approvals, campaign management and reporting
  • Provide strategic guidance and channel expertise while managing continuous content creation and optimization in support of ongoing acquisition campaigns
  • Develop new content and evolve existing SEO-focused content while acting as department expert and champion on overall Search Engine Optimization best practices for all web content
  • Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and keyword strategy with internal partners, driving channel performance
  • Write compelling ad copy and develop best practices for digital content
  • Manage multiple projects in a demanding environment and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure deliveries in accordance with set goals
  • Leverage analytical insights to continually optimize a multi-million-dollar budget to ensure meeting key performance indicators and profitable return on investment
  • Develop strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders including the acquisition team, product teams, commercial business, legal, compliance, enterprise partners and local vendors to partner on search strategy and execution
  • Balance use of proven tactics with a thoughtful and organized test-and-learn approach to exploring new opportunities and audiences
  • Stay on top of industry trends, competitor trends, new tools, ad formats and other innovations in paid search

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing / Business / Commerce, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of digital marketing experience
  • Familiarity with Google Adwords is preferred
  • Experience working in agency / managing agencies is an asset
  • Experience with Adobe / Google analytics is an asset
  • Excellent relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills across a diverse group of internal and external partners
  • Highly analytical mindset and a history of leveraging data to make decisions, drive change and find continual improvement
  • Proven ability to drive results working with multiple stakeholders across functions and levels to deliver on collective objectives
  • A passion for innovation and staying on top of technological trends
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and a good eye for compelling marketing copy
  • Cooperative vision that puts the success of the organization first and is willing to help others achieve their goals
  • Ability and willingness to learn quickly
