As a public relations advisor, newsroom coordinator, you help maintain the organization's brand image and reputation, and promote policies and programs for external audiences.

More specifically, you coordinate the Desjardins Group's newsroom and serve as a catalyst for creating news-related content.

You have an excellent understanding of new approaches to create and distribute content for external communication. You monitor initiatives and trends driving this field of activity.

You design and coordinate highly engaging projects that will be distributed in the Desjardins newsroom and on other organizational communication channels.

You never hesitate to call on people from different teams and build productive interpersonal relations.

General Information on the Position

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit's strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies. Represent your unit in dealings with decision-making bodies
  • Manage freelancers
  • Create content that effectively reaches target audiences.

  • Workplace: Position located in Montreal or Lévis, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications (journalism or public relations) or in a related discipline
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Writing experience
  • Experience in digital communications (e.g., web, social media)

  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required
