As an English-language UX writing advisor at Desjardins, you are a digital specialist with cutting-edge expertise in creating UX content, ready to leverage your knowledge for the leading cooperative financial group in Canada.

In this role, you are responsible for shaping the user experience on websites under the purview of the Digital Information Solutions and Digital Ecosystem Administrative Department, including—a platform central to Desjardins Group's digital strategy.

You deliver high-quality English content that accounts for business strategies and data insights, in line with the omnichannel approach, and meets UX writing, search engine optimization (SEO) and accessibility best practices.

You act as a content design leader when interacting with various stakeholders on innovative, strategic and complex digital projects. The projects you are called to work on require in-depth knowledge of user experience writing and a solid understanding of your colleagues' fields of expertise (UX, UI, SEO, web analytics, etc.). Teamwork is an integral part of your job. You are expected to join forces with many talented colleagues from a wide range of fields to deliver an efficient, smooth, and relevant experience for our website users.

General Information on the Position

Main responsibilities

  • Work closely with the members of a multidisciplinary team (in particular, UX, UI and SEO specialists) to design simple and consistent digital information solutions in English
  • Apply UX, SEO and accessibility best practices when designing digital content
  • Know and apply the principles of inclusive and gender-neutral language
  • Proactively identify issues, challenges, needs and problems to be resolved as well as opportunities for improving the user experience with digital content
  • Define the angles, form and tone to be adopted by taking into account the business strategy, the omnichannel approach, and qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Work with other digital content team members to define work tools and methods that will take the practice of English-language UX writing to the next level.
  • Establish a network of collaborators and represent your expertise and business unit when working with partners
  • Ensure overall consistency of content throughout the user journey
  • Showcase Desjardins's image and brand, educational mission and cooperative nature
  • Use terminology that is consistent with business and digital best practices, in particular for the financial services industry, while taking into account Desjardins's specific characteristics
  • Suggest ways to improve work methods and processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in communicatinos, linguistics or a related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree in interaction design (an asset)
  • 6 years of experience in digital writing and UX
  • Experience working in an Agile-based environment (an asset)

Specific knowledge

  • Ability to work in a French-speaking environment
  • Proficiency in the use of specialized digital, business and cooperative terminology

  • Knowledge of the uses, standards and work tools of the professional linguistic environment
  • Knowledge of GatherContent, Jira and Confluence (an asset)
  • Excellent writing skills in English
