Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Scientific Technical Writer, located in Guelph, ON, on a 6 - 12 Month contract, with the possibility for extension or transition into a regular full time position based on performance.

Under mentorship of the Manager and Scientists of the Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) group:

  • Support the introduction of new pharmaceutical OTC formulations and / or processes to the site.
  • Prepare technical documents in support of process development, process validation, stability, analytical and project's requirements.
  • Support team in activities where there is substantial data input required.
  • Collate and summarize analytical and manufacturing process data.
  • Support the preparation of protocols and reports according to project timelines.
  • Control the circulation of work in progress and maintain active and historical documents according to established procedures.
  • Maintain the area in accordance with current SOPs, GMPs, and GLPs.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Scientists for data integrity and preliminary interpretation for report generation.
  • Eager and willing to participate in other projects/initiatives as assigned.



  • Minimum of a University degree in Science or Engineering. Masters Degree preferred.

Experience and Skills:


  • Monimum of 4 years of overall work experience.
  • Honed skills in the use of the Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) will be used daily.
  • Outstanding English writing skills. Able to craft clear, logical, and concise technical documents to support regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-based environment and able to work diligently to meet commitments.
  • Able to handle a large list of tasks and work with Leaders and teams to effectively prioritize work.


  • Minimum of 2+years proven experience with excellent technical writing skills, preparing and presenting documents for Supervisory/Management review.
  • Strong interest in a career in the pharmaceutical, consumer health care or life sciences field.
  • Prior experience in a high-Quality Manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with statistical analysis is an asset.
