Job summary

Amazon's Internal Corporate Communications team is seeking an experienced, self-motivated and creative communications professional to manage employee-facing communications in Canada. As the single-threaded leader for ICC in Canada, you will be responsible for all internal communications to corporate employees, including the development of an editorial calendar and implementation of employee communication and engagement strategies, programs and events. The role would suit a tenacious, detail-orientated people person with a passion for storytelling, comfort to lead through ambiguity and agility to navigate a large-scale, complex business.

Key job responsibilities

o Work as part of a global team to develop innovative internal communications strategies, clear narratives and clever tactics that are tailored to, and engage, Amazon's corporate employees in Canada,

o Provide expert internal communications counsel to a variety of functions, stakeholders, and senior leaders within Canada, taking account of the legal and cultural nuances;

o Source and deliver original content, including articles, videos, and events, that shine a spotlight on employees in your countries;

o Oversee the internal communications channels, translation and delivery of content, and implementation of proactive campaigns and events for your countries;

o Proactively build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across a range of businesses and functions;

o Manage change and issues and crisis communications to support day to day business needs;

o Be the employee experience advocate, representing and protecting this through all strategies and decision-making.

o The ability to think and communicate clearly, formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues, and create a concise and well-written narrative

o Internal communications experience within a global retail operations, logistics, and/or technology company is highly preferred

o Experience developing creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges

o Experience creating metrics to measure communication effectiveness, reach and engagement

o Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to form a cohesive and effective outcome from potentially incongruous facts and individual perspectives

o Possess a strategic approach to problems solving; able to anticipate potential reputational issues

o Ability to exercise high judgment and persuasion, particularly in narrow time-frames

o Willing to roll up one's sleeves and get work done, even when at times it's outside the scope of the job

o Keenly focused and able to pay painstaking attention to important details
