About the Role

The Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, reporting to the Senior Director, HR, is responsible for managing and supporting all aspects of the recruitment process and for the development and delivery of the recruitment strategy. They will be a primary stakeholder in the employment branding project and will invest at least 20% of their time in training and developing the existing recruitment team. The Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition is responsible for partnering with our HR Programs group to build, develop and enhance talent acquisition programs.

About Your Day

  • Lead a team of talent acquisition associates to recruit against business plan and other urgent priorities as they arise
  • Acting as a talent advisor, manage the full-cycle recruitment process for senior talent including job postings, identifying, screening, interviewing, and managing the offer process
  • Review recruitment metrics and identify gaps or trends to solution; add metrics as required
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with HR Business Partners to understand and fulfill client needs
  • Delivering a best-in-class candidate experience by managing your talent pipeline, ensuring all applicants are acknowledged, and engaging in regular communication including delivering regrets
  • Lead projects to develop talent acquisition efficiencies and review/streamline the existing processes
  • Problem solves to staff difficult roles ensuring we are innovative and creative in our approach
  • Collaborate with the Business Partners to ensure all managers are trained on the recruiting process ensuring a strong candidate experience at all stages of the process
  • Focus on DEI within the process to drive candidate pools which represent Ontarians
  • Developing recruitment strategies with a focus on inclusion and diversity
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to develop our employer brand
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop a Talent Acquisition Strategy to support OCS's annual growth plans
  • Continually enhance and improve the recruiting process with the addition of new technology and regular post-mortems
  • In conjunction with HR; Hire, develop and inspire a highly qualified team of professionals
  • Lead a team of Talent Acquisition professionals to deliver against business needs
  • Provide guidance, leadership, coaching and performance development to direct reports
  • Foster a culture of innovation, transparency and accountability within the department and throughout the OCS
  • Ensure that the team has the competence and skills to execute business-critical projects
  • Build and direct a high performing team that consistently meets or exceeds expectations by assuring process compliance, ensuring appropriate training and feedback, and working with leadership to ensure team engagement
  • About You
  • Post-secondary education
  • 5 years of Talent Acquisition experience, ideally within a business partnership model
  • 3+ years of experience recruiting for senior level roles
  • Experience in managing ATS tools, and developing recruitment strategies
  • Proven track record of developing a team of best-in-class talent acquisition professionals
  • Strong experience with facilitation and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of Accessibility requirements in Ontario
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and facilitation skills
  • Able to promote collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders with demonstrated interpersonal skills

  • This position offers a Hybrid work schedule. You will be required to be in the office a minimum of 1 day each week, with the ability to work from home for the remaining workdays (subject to specific business needs requiring office attendance).
  • When working from home, a reliable internet connection is required. Remote work is supported with cloud-based applications and collaboration tools (i.e., MS Teams)
