THE ROLE
Herschel Supply is searching for a Communications Manager to lead our PR and communications across the organization. This role will play a key role in leading our media relations, communications and influencer strategies and support our internal team with all aspects of communication.

As the Communication Manager, you will be responsible for working with our internal and agency partners to deliver compelling narratives to media to position our brand as the leader in our categories. This is a dynamic position and requires you to be entrepreneurial, organized and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders within and outside our organization.

On a day-to-day basis, the Communications Manager will:

Media Relations:

  • Develop and lead the Herschel Supply media relations strategy.
  • Build seasonal press campaigns for online and in-book editorial.
  • Develop and lead distribution strategy for seasonal assets with media partners and global distributors.
  • Develop a strategy for key influencer and blogger relationships, including product seeding and events.
  • Develop and facilitate long and short lead press opportunities, interviews and product placement across print, online, film and events.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and budget of North American press agency.
  • Report on seasonal campaign performance and earned coverage.
  • Plan, coordinate and provide support documents for communication-based initiatives internationally to ensure that Herschel Supply is showing up properly through international partners.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow international media relationships.
  • Work with collaboration partners to bring products and brand stories to market

Internal Communications:

  • Support the organization across internal communication strategy & execution
  • Develop and support crisis communication planning and strategies with cross-functional partners
  • Write, edit and manage communication pieces ensuring brand voice is maintained

Advertising:

  • Develop seasonal campaign media planning and buying strategy seasonally for key cities globally.
  • Manage advertising planning process including budgets, art direction and execution.
  • Select and manage timelines for advertising agency partners.
  • Work with the design team to select and get approval on all seasonal lifestyle assets.

Your Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a PR-related position with a lifestyle brand or agency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or another relevant field.
  • Excellent understanding of the fashion industry.
  • Existing relationships with North American fashion editors and publications are required.
  • Strong presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience in event production and social media an asset.
  • Solid understanding of news media systems and processes.
  • Creative, results-driven working knowledge of trends, style and industry.
  • Able to prioritize, manage deadlines, and make decisions under pressure.
  • High level of confidence and ability to network.
