What is the Opportunity?

Lead a team of Manager Sales Support and Associate Account Managers within a single region to enable the team to deliver an exceptional end to end client onboarding experience for new and existing clients. Coach team to proactively identify opportunities to further grow and deepen relationships via strong knowledge of the client's operational banking needs. Works closely with all RBC Partners and has the ability to build strong relations is an important element of this role. Create a winning culture, building an engaged and skilled team through coaching routines, development planning, and by demonstrating belief in your team, partners and RBC's ability to win. Be the thought leader that advocates for the needs of the team in support of the continued evolution of their roles. You actively manage talent and through ongoing succession planning maintain a robust pipeline attracting and growing diverse talent for today and the future. You lead and enable your team through the transformation to becoming a digitally enabled relations bank by becoming an advocate for ensuring clients are set up to leverage digital solutions for themselves and their business

What will you do?

  • Ensure team members are set up to deliver on acquiring new clients, and help existing clients meet and grow their needs.
  • Strategize with the team about potential opportunities, leveraging discover techniques, on-boarding training and Business Service Reviews.
  • Provides coaching to the team to enable delivery of the RBC advice promise, matching solutions to clients' needs
  • Develop and coach on opportunities to meet client needs and market plan for the team to support the overall Business unit goals and adjust activities as required
  • Conduct effective Practice Management Routines tailored to bring value to each team member, while maintaining a forward looking view. Focus on key behaviours and activities to move referral opportunities forward and win business
  • Coach team members to maximize the use of technology to follow through on all client strategies, sales activities and opportunities as well as to build corporate memory and enable the continuity of client servicing
  • Coach team to share responsibility with the Client Relationship team for robust clients relations built upon strong contact management routines

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills and commitment to ongoing learning
  • Proven sales leadership skills, including the ability to lead employees through organization change
  • Demonstrated ability to grow the business through effective partnering activities
  • Strong relationship builder, able to establish both internal and external working relationships in order to identify and implement strategies for business growth
  • Strong Business and organizational knowledge, planning and implementing capabilities with a knowledge /experience across Commercial Financial Services within region supported, including sales and account management, direct sales, and operational expertise.
  • Demonstrated passion for putting clients first and the ability to impact and influence sales leaders, employees and partners

Nice to have:

  • Commercial Banking experience in a Commercial Account Manager or Manager Sales Support role
  • Understanding of cash management product & services
  • Knowledge of business banking products, services and delivery/fulfillment channels would be an asset
