What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Compensation Governance and Analytics is an integral member of the Compensation Governance Team, providing support to RBC's Board of Directors and senior management as they discharge the responsibilities of overseeing RBC's compensation programs and practices. This role will have the opportunity to re-engineer processes, automate and enhance reporting, and develop insights and analytics in our Compensation practice. This individual will also be responsible for multiple oversight activities including working with Audit and Compliance to ensure our controls and risk management practices are in line with best practices. What will you do?

Executive Reporting

  • Maintain a global list of covered employees to be presented at the CUSO Conduct Risk Committee and the Enterprise Material Breach Committee
  • Lead the Year-End reporting cycle on Material Breaches and Compensation Adjustments
  • Support preparation for the Compensation Sub-Group, Compensation Risk Management Oversight Committee, and Human Resources Committee
  • Assess requirements for annual reporting and proactively apply changes according to new regulations and enterprise standards

Risk and Controls

  • Partner with Operational Risk to drive the Compensation work stream in the Regulatory Compliance Monitoring (RCM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM) programs to close gaps and findings
  • Automate and enhance reporting to provide effective oversight over the Compensation portfolio, including developing key risk indicators to highlight areas requiring attention to senior leadership

Data Analytics and Insights

  • Build and develop tooling to gather, synthesize and visualize compensation data to support future compensation strategies
  • Play a pivotal role in skilling up the Compensation Governance team to utilize technology and data to provide global, industry-wide and enterprise-wide insights into compensation practices, with the goal to inform and supplement functional and business partners on compensation discussions and decisions

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Undergraduate degree with 5-8 years progressive experience in HR, risk, compliance, audit, finance or regulatory
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proven ability to learn new tools and analytics methodologies in a short time period
  • Strong dashboarding capabilities and demonstrated experience in building reporting from scratch including developing data structures and repositories
  • Strong problem solving, learning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and have strong attention to detail
  • Strong appreciation for risk and controls to ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards
  • Collaborative approach and enjoy working in a team environment

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues with respect to compensation
