About The Role

The Coordinator, Marketing is responsible for implementing marketing strategies across a range of campaigns and working with internal teams to develop marketing and communications assets, ensuring that all deliverables are on time and on brand. The role also includes exploring creative and experiential marketing tactics to increase MaRS brand awareness and reach new audiences in innovative ways.

This is a 1-year contract.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate marketing projects

  • Monitor inbound requests and work with the Marketing & Communications team to deliver on a range of marketing requests, including website updates, design assets, newsletters and social media posts.
  • Work with internal teams to implement integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Use Asana and project management best practices to ensure deliverables are completed on time.
  • Identify any key issues or risks that impact the meeting of pre-established targets and propose and implement solutions and improvements.

Design

  • Design assets for MaRS digital channels, including social, email, web, paid ads and video, incorporating best practices and following brand guidelines.
  • Update and maintain content on marsdd.com and other MaRS websites, including magazine article and web page design.
  • Work with external agencies to develop design assets, writing detailed creative briefs and ensuring deliverables are met on time.

Email Marketing

  • Develop email marketing campaigns, including designing templates, choosing/optimizing images and sending emails to targeted audiences.
  • Manage the email and newsletter calendar, working with internal teams to send out campaigns.

Social Media and Content Support

  • Schedule social media calendar in Hootsuite and respond to community inquiries.
  • Support on video and photography shoots as well as video editing and captioning.

Analytics and Tracking

  • Support the team with tracking the results and impact of campaigns, including social media, email and web metrics.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma/certificate, with a focus on marketing or communications preferred.
  • 1+ year in a marketing position
  • Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with tightly prescribed timelines
  • Experience with email marketing, social media (organic and paid) and web analytics
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and visual hierarchy
  • An understanding of project management best practices and collaboration
  • Excellent computer skills, and the ability to learn and use software programs and online applications
  • Knowledge of UX and web design best practices
  • Strong analytical skills (including mastery of Microsoft Excel) and experience with reporting and data analysis

Salary Range: $40,600 - $50,000, benefits and paid time-off.
