About the Opportunity

Scout Talent is currently working on behalf of our client, an industry-leading organization that works closely with the Vancouver construction industry, to hire a full-time Marketing and Communications Manager, based in their Vancouver, BC office.

Reporting to the President, you will take ownership of the organization's marketing and communication initiatives, with the purpose of driving its awareness, engagement, and presence within its members network.

You will lead a small team that directly supports the needs of multiple revenue-generating departments, while also assisting and seeking revenue opportunities through strategic marketing channels.

As part of our key leadership team, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Producing fresh and impactful content for various communication channels (e.g., email, newsletter, online magazine, marketing collateral, website, and social media)
  • Leading a team responsible in executing marketing campaigns, that include the Marketing Coordinator and Multimedia Designer
  • Representing the organization in member functions and PR events
  • Leveraging various tools and analytics to monitor/assess the effectiveness of all marketing and communications strategies
  • Managing the organization's affinity partner programs
  • Collaborating with department managers to understand and deliver marketing and communication needs
  • Participating in key planning sessions to map out the organization's progress against its operational plan

About You

To qualify, you will need at least 3 years of leadership experience working as a Marketing and Communications Manager, or equivalent position.

In addition, the following are essential to successfully perform this role:

  • Post-secondary education or diploma, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related studies
  • Exceptional long and short-form copywriting and content creation in various media (e.g., print, web, social media, presentations, etc.)
  • Website content and management
  • Social media marketing
  • Email marketing
  • Project management
  • Valid driver's license
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Hootsuite (asset)
  • Mailchimp (asset)
  • PR and media relations (asset)
  • Exposure in construction organizations, non-profit, event marketing, and government relations (asset)
