The Fraser Institute has an opening for a Graphic Designer. Reporting to the Creative Director, the Graphic Designer creates graphics to support our research and helps manage the creative work done by our freelance network. This is a hands-on role, which will support marketing initiatives across the Institute. The position is ideal for someone who has an interest in Public Policy and can take data and develop high-impact infographics (with the support of the Marketing, Communications and Research teams).


  • Work closely with the Marketing, Communications and Research teams to design infographics and other visual content for our research studies.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director in writing creative briefs for freelance designers to create graphics to support our research.
  • Manage day-to-day aspect of capturing feedback on multiple creative projects and managing the feedback and approval loops with both internal and external resources.
  • Assist other internal departments on their graphic design needs.


  • You have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Graphic Design.
  • You have a post-secondary education in Graphic Design and an interest in public policy.
  • You work in Adobe CC or Blender, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • You like to display your creativity through conceptualizing infographics that make complex data, easily understood.
  • You have experience with editorial image searches (both photo & illustration).
  • You have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and you are precise when proofreading for grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • You are experienced in both print and digital design and file management.
  • You have an online portfolio of past work that is available for viewing.
  • You're an ambitious go-getter with strong organizational and project management skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, prioritize, work to deadlines, and you are excited to learn and grow with the organization.
