As our team and company continues to scale, we are looking for a Business Development Representative to join the team. Reporting to the Executive Team, this person will be responsible in bridging the gap between the potential customer's needs and the services that AHL offers that can fulfil their needs. This person will prospect, qualify, pitch and close new business to drive growth and profitably; and be responsible for achieving revenue goals for assigned regional territory.

What you'll do:

  • Networking
  • Work with the marketing department to use social media accounts such as Linkedin and Facebook to join industry groups and network with industry contacts.
  • Identify the most important and attend major industry events (e.g. conferences) on behalf of AHL.
  • Build relationships with other corporations for potential future partnerships.
  • Represent Animal HealthLink's culture and mission to both the veterinary industry and the public.
  • Manage & grow sales pipeline
  • Set up and meet any incoming sales inquiries.
  • Work with the marketing, executive and operations team to help develop the sales pipeline and leads.
  • Meet and follow-up on inside sales inquiries.
  • Actively develop and execute on outside sales strategies.
  • Work closely with Operations to develop onboarding proposals.
  • Collaboration
  • Work with the Account Manager to help resolve any client concerns or complaints.
  • Work with the Account Manager & the team to develop and execute clinical onboarding programs and materials.
  • Manage different requirements from a variety of clients.
  • Build a relationship with veterinary schools and students to support AHL industry events, lectures, and research initiatives.
  • Work with corporate partners to develop and support key accounts.
  • Coordinate with other business development staff to help perform market research and regular competitor monitoring.

What you bring:

  • You have 3+ years experience in a similar role and industry, ideally the veterinary industry.
  • You are natural at building rapport, communicating ideas, and getting people on board.
  • You are a detail-oriented individual who is strategic and operational minded.
  • You understand the environment, industry, and pain points of our clients; and how AHL can help various stakeholders.
  • You navigate ambiguity with ease and can keep up with changing requirements.
  • You are flexible and enjoy travelling to attend conferences.
  • You possess strong communication skills (written & verbal).
  • You are an adept user of MS Office & GSuite.
  • You are creative, resourceful & organized and enjoy collaborative work environments.
