Field Sales Technical Representative, Canada

The Field Sales Technical Representative (FSTR) will propel sales and field support for the complete product line of GAF Commercial roofing products in the Western Provinces of Canada. This includes identifying opportunities, generating leads, deepening the customer network, teaching, demonstrating products and site specific project field support. The FSTR will maintain contractor and project target lists to ensure a proper balance and alignment with the sales strategy. This role will be accountable for influencing the key decision makers in the commercial roofing construction process to increase sales opportunities for GAF and its customer base. This position will be home-based in Canada.


? Influence and provide GAF commercial product line support to key decision makers, stakeholders and end users:

  • Contractors
  • Distributors
  • Architects, Engineers, Consultants (A/E/C)
  • Builders and Developers
  • Owners

? Manage, track and distribute project opportunities to increase sales throughout a multi-month or multi-year sales cycle.

? Build relationships with the current GAF Contractor base. Identify gaps in the market and identify new target contractors for conversion.

? Own the success of our customers. Work closely with the local GAF Contractor to pull through regional project opportunities and new specifications.

? Voice of and to the customer: promote and communicate GAF technologies through product line presentations, education presentations, training, and related similar creative methods that increase GAF's market presence and position. Align those activities with the defined sales strategy and goals.

? The FSTR is accountable for utilizing databases , industry events and the GAF website for lead generation. Also, utilize a CRM system and current marketing tools.

? Industry involvement: Actively participates in associations and attends trade events, such as IRE/NRCA/IIBEC


? Bachelor's Degree preferred, High School Degree required. Must have at least 5 years of demonstrated commercial sales experience and field support in the building materials environment.

Industry recognized certifications and accreditations are a plus: architecture, engineering, sales training, CSI, IIBEC, etc.


? Progressive sales experience of 5+ years preferably in building materials or roofing industries.

? Possess insights and significant knowledge that is related to commercial roofing construction, building materials and construction document standards/procedures.

? Ability to work independently and within a matrixed organization.

? Advanced communication and organizational capabilities

? Strong presentation and public speaking skills

? Ability to influence others is essential Proficiency with Google Business Suite products as well as CRM systems, Salesforce a plus.

? Valid driver's license is required.

? Passport for entry to the USA for training as needed
