About Bench Brewing :

Located in the heart of Niagara's wine country, the Bench brewery is located on the site of the historic Maple Grove Public School in Beamsville, Ontario. Our brewery is a place for our guests to relax, learn, and experience the craft of brewing beer.

The Bench Brewing campus sits across eight beautiful acres of farmland and features a 50hL brewing system, a tap and tasting room, a beer garden, a ?funk house' for our wild ale and barrel fermentation program, and our very own hops field.

Our property houses a beautiful catholic church built in 1938 that has been converted to the Fieldstone at Bench facility. It has an indoor seating capacity of approximately 70 guests and during the warmer seasons the events lawn can seat up to 225 guests.

Bench is a certified B Corporation and strives to be a leader in sustainability, having achieved a zero-wastewater footprint and Carbon Neutral certification by Radicle Climate Smart.

The Role:

The Digital & Social Media Manager will oversee all digital and social platforms for both Bench Brewing in Niagara and our strategic partner, Henderson Brewing, located in the Lower Junction area of Toronto. The successful candidate will be supporting key functional stakeholders at both Bench and Henderson to ensure timely execution of digital projects. The ultimate mandate of the Digital & Social Marketing Manger is to create and deliver break-through written and visual content and to ensure high levels of engagement across all digital touchpoints.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and own the organic social media strategies for both Bench and Henderson, ensuring that it contributes to the achievement of business goals.
  • Create a robust content calendar and execution plan that incorporates input from key stakeholders at Bench and Henderson (brewing, sales, hospitality, and events) to produce a unified, coherent, and distinct social presence across all platforms for both brands.
  • Stay at the forefront of social media tactics and techniques to test new ideas to continuously engage Bench and Henderson consumers.
  • Plan, produce and execute polished, engaging written and visual content for all of Bench and Henderson's digital mediums, including websites, e-newsletter campaigns, and all social media platforms (Instagram, Meta, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Engage with social media followers and respond to comments and direct messages in a timely manner. This will require flexibility in the work schedule to provide timely feedback during the day, nights and weekends.
  • Working with the Bench and Henderson retail and ecommerce teams, manage the Instagram and Facebook / Meta shop catalogs.
  • Develop, track, measure, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all digital campaigns.
  • Support and administrate any potential digital marketing budgets including paid boosts or other social led activations.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' progressive experience in social media planning, production, and execution in a consumer brand building environment.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple B2B/B2C digital and social media accounts.
  • Website design experience, specifically with Shopify / PageFly, highly preferred.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry, specifically beverage alcohol is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficient in Canva and other digital design software preferred.
  • Powerful writing and editing skills with experience optimizing content for individual platforms and audiences.
  • Public relations and customer service experience considered a strong asset.
  • Both a creative and strategic thinker with experience executing content creation, storytelling, and digital/social media planning.
  • Understands and relishes the opportunity to work with cross-functional team across two partner brands in Bench and Henderson.
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of MS Office suite of programs, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment through multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time proactively, independently, and effectively.

  • A willingness to lift the occasional keg or case of beer!

Work Arrangements:

A vehicle and regular weekly travel are required for this role. The successful candidate will be expected to take in-person meetings and develop digital content at both the Bench brewery and taproom in Beamsville, ON and the Henderson brewery and taproom in Toronto, ON. Some remote work is possible. Days off may fluctuate as some evening and weekend work will be required for social media content development needs.
