How you'll make an impact

In this entry level Business Development role (internally known as the Partner Development Representative), you'll be part of a dynamic sales team and have the opportunity to develop your sales skills through training, mentorship and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to achieving Xero's revenue goals. Learn, teach others and advance within the Go-To-Market team by building a pipeline and gaining exposure to all aspects of the sales cycle, working together to improve lead quality, collaborating on best practices and honing your sales craft.

What you'll be doing

  • Build relationships through a mixture of cold calling, personalized emailing and social networks to connect with key prospective partners with a target of scheduling deeper discovery calls for the sales team
  • Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up communications designed to increase prospective partner interest in Xero
  • Enhance your resiliency skills to anticipate, prepare, and overcome objections in sales communications
  • Work alongside Senior Account Managers to strategize and prospect in your assigned territory
  • Track and maintain lead data integrity in Salesforce
  • Report weekly to your direct manager on challenges, successes and progress against your targets
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly targets of qualified sales leads/opportunities
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support lead gen follow-up, tracking and feedback loop

About You

  • You excel in a fast-paced environment while meeting and exceeding measurable performance goals
  • Natural curiosity with a desire to learn and enjoy finding creative ways to reach partners in order to engage them in meaningful conversations
  • You have a passion to help businesses improve with technology
  • Highly organized, able to manage time effectively, and work independently
  • Results-driven and able to work through rejection
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written

What You'll Bring

  • Have the ability to work in a fast, performance based environment
  • An interest in accounting or bookkeeping is an asset
  • Have the technical aptitude for working with Salesforce and other sales tools
  • Bilingual (English/French) is a plus
