Job Summary
The Faculty of Open Learning and Career Development (OLCD) develops and delivers innovative and diverse lifelong learning experiences for more than 5000 students annually to help them navigate the changing world of learning and work. Reporting to the Director, Technical, Operations, Emerging Technologies, Communication, the Program Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient management and administration of workshops, courses and certificates in multiple delivery modalities, including student inquiries, career advising, student access to the learning management system, instructor liaising, course scheduling, on-site logistics, instructor payments, and student record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages delivery of online, hyflex and in-person courses and workshops covering a wide range of detailed and complex subjects. Manages the curriculum assets for a wide variety of courses across a spectrum of technical, operations and communications fields.
- Acts as primary point of contact for prospective student inquiries and advising that are not handled by the Student Services Team.
- Ensures students have access to the online course materials, details about in-person classes and/or appropriate student support services and are enrolled in the appropriate certificate program in Destiny One.
- Monitors student attendance and progress in the course and/or program. Arranges extensions for students on assignments and assessments if necessary, working with instructors to make alternative arrangements.
- Provides advice to students and prospective students regarding the suitability and availability of courses and certificates for their career and educational goals. Assists students with course selection to meet certificate requirements.
- Flags courses with low enrollments for additional marketing initiatives.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field such as social sciences, humanities, education, business or computer science, plus approximately three years progressive relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Demonstrated planning, organizing, project management and supervising skills.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team.
- Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail, time management and problem-solving.
- Experience with MSOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience in learning management, information and financial systems (including budget preparation and administration) with the ability to learn new programs.
Assets
- Experience working in an university environment.
- Experience with Brightspace and/or Destiny One.
