Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition (TAQ)

As a valued member of the HR team you will uphold all aspects of Talent Acquisition for all key business units operating in the Canadian multifunctional HUB under AstraZeneca (Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit, Oncology BU, Oncology R&D, Biopharmaceuticals R&D and other key Global teams). You will work seamlessly with the HR Business Partners and entire HR team to fuel the growth of the organization, ensuring a diverse pipeline and satisfying the ongoing staffing demands to maintain our rapidly growing workforce.

Your role will also maintain and demonstrate strong connections with the relevant Global HR Centers of Excellence to ensure the AZ way for Talent Acquisition is consistently performed in Canada in line with global practices, using the resources and expertise of the Global HR team.

You will also work closely with the HR business partners in the team for smooth connections and processes across the functions as they draw upon the TAQ to staff their collaborator teams. This role is also a people leadership role with direct management of a team of recruiting managers. You are, by nature of the role, a specialist and subject matter authority in all aspects of Talent Acquisition and primarily serve as a center of excellence for the HR team but you will also be front line to the business as you uphold your accountabilities.

The main accountabilities will include:

Overall strategic and process leader for running an efficient and effective Talent Acquisition team with strong day to day operational focus

Responsible for ensuring strong candidate experience in the end to end candidate journey from job posting to arrival for day one, ensuring robust Standard Operating Procedures for all key repeatable processes and ensuring strong Inclusion & Diversity principles through the entire process

Ensuring a strong hiring manager experience including maintenance of training and training reference materials to create repeatable managerial excellence in the candidate experience

Responsible for setting, tracking and achieving a first class set of TAQ critical metrics

People leadership of the internal team of TAQ Partner - staffing decisions, employee engagement and development, vision and encouragement and change agility as the workforce grows

Oversight and people management of a flexible partner approach for contract recruiting resource and any external employees serving as TAQ managers through our 3rd party partner as the demand may require resourcing agility

Leading key strategic accountabilities of this team most notably - employer brand and candidate marketing program, university partnerships for key jobs/skills

Collaborating across the local HR team with smooth hand offs of key processes to the HR business partners and also strong leverage of the COE leads if required i.e. Rewards partner, ER partner or I&D/T&D partner

Strategic and proactive planning and flawless implementation for role forecasts - incl. understanding team forecast, market trends, demonstrating data and insights to build strategy, etc

Running relocations and internal transfers via strong partnering with Global Mobility

Maintaining positive relationships with all relevant Global partners - most notably the regional and global TAQ leaders and any key market TAQ partners relevant to any searches or above market projects

Crucial requirements

5-10 years of experience in HR with a focus in Talent Acquisition Management

Proven people leadership

Sophisticated communication, presentation and project management skills

Positive relationship building and relationship management skills, high integrity orientation

Proven eye for business, expertise in a global corporate professional workforce an asset

Extensive knowledge of relevant Canadian employment law and regulations

Bilingual in English and French as well as experience in Pharmaceuticals are assets

Experience of workday/ ATS systems
