Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) reporting the Manager of Information Technology. The position will be based from our Richmond, British Columbia office; however, a hybrid work style is offered, allowing the candidate to work both virtually and in the office.

The successful candidate should be familiar with test automation frameworks for angular web applications, using CI/CD pipelines and coding Selenium automated tests. The candidate should be a proactive learner of advancing technologies. The SDET will work closely with a team to ensure the high coding standards are maintained. The position will involve building and maintaining our automation test suite and framework, manual testing where required and report findings using appropriate tools. This individual should have a persistent hunger to learn and solve problems in the pursuit of perfection.

Position Responsibilities

Develop repeatable, reliable, and maintainable test automation code

Find flaws in the system that no one else can find

Work closely with the team to understand business requirements and write comprehensive tests to ensure quality of the system

Report test results

Run manual tests as required

Effectively contribute to building the overall knowledge and expertise of the technical team.

Work closely with Scrum Masters to organize the work

Actively contribute to the process of continual improvement, with regard to self, team, processes and systems

Willingness to collaborate with geographically distributed teams

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

4+ years of Software Development Experience

2+ Years with Test Automation

2+ years developing or testing cloud applications

2+ years professional experience using Java, Selenium & Cucumber

Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail

Must legally able to work in Canada

Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :

Undergraduate degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, computer engineering or equivalent

Experience building and maintaining automated test infrastructure

Experience with SoapUI, Azure DevOps and SonarQube

Technical degree/diploma in a related field of study or equivalent work experience

Experience with test automation for Angular web applications

Knowledge and experience in CI/CD and other tools like Git, Jenkins

Experience working in agile methodology, preferably SAFe

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.)

Additional Information :

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

Summery Pay Range: CAD 75,000 - CAD 133,000
