WORK ILLUSTRATION:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Systems, the HR Systems Specialist will be responsible for the research, implementation and maintenance of new and enhanced Human Resources, Environment & Safety (HRE&S) technology applications and end user tools. In performing this function, the HR Systems Specialist will provide technology application expertise to assist management with solutions to complex business problems and guidance on solution implementation.
The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the development of Human Resources, Environment and Safety (HRE&S) division technology roadmap for new/enhanced initiatives, programs and processes
Partner with IT on business case development for new/enhanced division technology initiatives
Drive and provide expertise in division technology and system developments and enhancements
Lead full cycle project implementation representing the Business to deliver applications, modules and features in conjunction with functional experts and IT resources
Build and maintain strong relationships with appropriate HRE&S & IT staff, support existing systems and application functions and resolve system incidents and problems
Manage business requests for system enhancements and changes, prioritize and plan the execution to align with Business priorities and objectives
Analyze functional technology solution problems and determine/recommend best alternatives for resolving these issues
Partnering with change management to identify required communications and training needs for end users for optimal technology adoption
Review and provide input to technical documents and agreements between business, vendor and IT
Design business processes to support best practices
Keep abreast of developments in software and hardware technologies
Research and recommend creative technology initiatives and programs
REQUIREMENTS:
University degree; Human Resources, Information Management or Computer Science graduates preferred
A minimum of 5 years of HR application software experience
Experience with the maintenance of the full HR application suite in SuccessFactors? (SAP)
Excellent computer skills with a thorough knowledge of relational databases and spreadsheets (i.e. Excel)
Demonstrated project management understanding through hands-on project management experience
CHRP/CHRL is an asset
Strong understanding of Human Resources data, processes and procedures with a broad working knowledge of all aspects of human resources management systems and information technologies

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
