Position: Social Media & Marketing Coordinator

Reports to: Vice President of Operations, Niagara River Lions

Location: Thorold, Ontario (in office)

Start date: Immediately

We are looking for an experienced and creative Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our social media and marketing strategies to increase our presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience in marketing, social media, digital advertising, communications, photo, video and understand SEO, tracking, analytics and metrics.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Social Media:

  • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy while following brand guidelines
  • Daily monitoring and engagement across all social media channels
  • Work closely with graphic designer to develop and curate year-round, engaging and relevant content that resonates with existing fans and attracts new ones
  • Collaborate with each department to plan the overall content calendar
  • Ensure that all social media aspects of partnership agreements are fulfilled
  • Attend events to produce live social media content
  • Conduct market research and be up to date with latest trends
  • Grow following across all social media channels
  • Prepare monthly and yearly reports on the performance of social media campaigns and partner content

Marketing:

  • Assist in the creation of editing written, video and photo content
  • Lead digital ad buying, optimization and reporting
  • Coordinate sales, event or content email marketing campaigns including copy, scheduling, testing and database management
  • Write, edit and publish press releases for media distribution
  • Update, maintain and monitor the company website while analyzing website traffic statistics to determine if content is driving interest
  • Assist in the planning, buying and strategy of traditional marketing including radio, print, billboards, etc.
  • Assist in the development and management of influencer marketing strategy
  • Coordinate marketing and community events, including overseeing logistics, managing registrations, coordinating with stakeholders, and ordering marketing collateral
  • Report on growth and engagement targets and identify areas for improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-2 years experience in social media marketing with a passion for creative storytelling
  • Post secondary education with a degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and compelling copy that reflects numerous unique brand voices
  • Exceptional grammatical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Experience following brand guidelines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Must be a self starter and able to independently move projects forward

Availability:

Monday-Friday, 9am-5:00pm

Must be available for all game days during the season

Evenings and weekends may be required from time to time
