We're independently owned by four partners from different disciplines. We knew there was a better way of creating work that is Central to clients today, so we built an agency around it. We're 44 people and growing. We have a talented team of designers, developers, strategists, art directors, writers, account managers, project managers, digital marketers, and production people.

Our client roster spans a broad range of product categories. Most are Canadian, some are North American, and a handful are Global. Some use us for B2B, some B2C and others, both. Most have been with us for 7-20 years and others we've targeted and acquired over the past 2-3 years. Our top clients include IKO Industries, Spin Master, Nike, KPMG, Christian Dior, Wajax, Dyson, Two Bears Coffee and Deciem.

Logistics

Because we have several years of experience in finding top talent to meet our client's needs, our client, IKO Industries, has asked for our help in building their internal Social Media team.

This position will offer a unique three-month onboarding experience that seamlessly integrates both Central Station's expertise and IKO's systems and procedures.

The right candidate will be starting with the following schedule:

  • Three-day commitment at the IKO office in Mississauga accompanied by a CS employee at least 1 day a week.
  • The other 2 days will be remote with the CS team.
  • After two months, this will move to 5 days in the IKO offices working remotely with Central Station.
  • Post-probation, this role will transition to a
full-time, in-office position with IKO Industries at 1900 Minnesota Court in Mississauga, embracing the collaborative, engaging atmosphere and innovation IKO Industries is known for.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The HSS Social Media Manager plays a key role in the shared media group. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Branding, the selected candidate will represent HSS clients across all social channels as the voice of their brands. Working along with the HSS Community Manager, they will manage the corporate online brand persona as well as those of our clients to achieve performance growth and marketing goals. This position is full-time, at IKO's office located at 1900 Minnesota Drive in Mississauga.

We're looking for someone who will craft and implement organic content strategies across active social media platforms. Duties include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions, and planning digital campaigns to build community online.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS :

Social Media Strategy and Management:

  • Execute a social media strategy to drive customer engagement across platforms like Meta, LinkedIn, Tik-Tok and Pinterest.
  • Manage social media internally for HSS as well as several clients.
  • Develop and execute a social media content strategy.
  • Review analytics and insights to make data-driven recommendations for growth.

Community Building:

  • Drive growth and cultivate an online community.
  • Work closely with the rest of the marketing team, internal stakeholders and clients to identify opportunities to grow the community and connect with existing and potential customers.
  • Work with clients to develop social media ambassadors and content contributors.
  • Source, collect and encourage user-generated content (UGC) by engaging with customers and followers.

Content Development and Communication:

  • Develop exciting, engaging content that is industry-relevant, timely and authentically reflective of each brand.
  • Create and maintain a social media calendar that drives engagement using a wide variety of content forms - graphics, GIFs, videos, polls and more!
  • Research and communicate client success stories, projects, products, and innovations.
  • Represent the voices and brand personas that are unique to each client.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • We're on the lookout for someone creative: We prefer a bachelor's degree in communications/marketing, Internet Marketing, Journalism, or a related field and three to five years of solid social media experience. Agency experience is a plus!
  • Digital Expertise: We are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong knowledge of a variety of social media platforms and management software. We're also looking for an advanced understanding of SEO, keyword research, and Google analytics. (Bonus points if you also have experience with paid campaigns.)
  • Strategic Planning: You should have proven experience in social media strategy, strategic planning, and project management skills.
  • Communication: You are a team player and master communicator who has a proven ability to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.

Work Authorization and Travel:

  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
