JOB TITLE: INFORMATION OFFICER, COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA RELATIONS SERVICE

(Duration: Maternity leave replacement - 12-month contract, salary: $26.22/h - $43.49/h)

Under the supervision of the head of Communications and Media Relations (CRM), the person holding this position will assume an exciting new hybrid role, combining media relations skills and support for communications as part of our CIUSSS’s visionary Connected Health Record project.

THIS ROLE’S RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Enhance and support the image of the CIUSSS of West-Central Montreal by establishing strong relationships with our media partners, inviting them to participate in the news and activities of the CIUSSS facilities, and positioning our specialists as experts in their fields. • Write media notices and press releases.
  • Attend events, conferences and meetings.
  • Propose and organize press conferences, and act as a facilitator, as needed, in coordination with government representatives and other partners.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, in communications, public relations, journalism or in a discipline relevant to the functions, or hold a comparative assessment of studies completed outside Quebec issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Graduate degree would be an asset.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least three years of professional experience in media relations or journalism, an asset.
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare and social services sector, its administration and legal framework, and HR issues within a large organization.
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Meltwater, Word, Teams, Excel, Canva, and all social media platforms. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, an asset.
