Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).

Duties: Under the direction of the Director, Employment and Student Entrepreneurial Services, the Manager is accountable for the effective operation of the Community Employment Services by providing a broad range of employment support services to the public. Markets the programs and manages the government funding for the selected programs and services. Responsible for the day-to-day operations for the front-line support services to students, graduates, clients and employers for Career, Co-operative Education, and Community Employment Services. Develops proposals for new funding opportunities, and is accountable for contract compliance, delivery and on-going review, business planning, target attainment and financial reporting on all projects. Acts as primary contact with funder for all approved projects.

Ensures the achievement of annual program targets and service outcomes, creating strong linkages with related College programs and community partners while operating an off-campus employment centre are key requirements of the position. Manages partnership agreements and Memorandums of Understanding for community partner relationships. Responsible for all site and building related issues at the off-campus location. In-conjunction with Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety and Emergency Services, and Campus Security Services develops, monitors and revises plans as needed to ensure the safe and effective operation of the site for both staff and general public.

The Employment Ontario office, located at 155 Clarke Road, London, Ontario, is currently undergoing EO Transformation. This office works with the unemployed and underemployed in the City of London and is a member of a larger ecosystem both within the College community and the community at large. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the successful transformation of the Fanshawe Community Employment Services in London and supporting the on-campus teams of career services, Co-operative education, LEAP Junction and military-connected campus when needed. Supporting the team in understanding outcomes-based funding is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in Business Administration, Social Services or Adult Education
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a related work environment such as employment or human services, including a background in career and employment counseling services
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Demonstrated managerial experience and budget management along with project management, change management and people management
  • Experience in leading government contracts, including the auditing, reporting and budget aspects is necessary
  • Well developed consulting and career counseling skills
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Leadership and Managerial experience
  • Capability with software packages
  • Excellent communication skills, supporting a respectful workplace focused on equity, diversity and inclusivity, and leading teams to successful outcomes is required
