JOB PURPOSE

Provide leadership and strategic direction in the development and implementation of United Way's brand and public awareness strategies. Uses a strong generalist skill set in marketing and communications to provide services to variance departments.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the Director of Marketing in brand promotion. Assists in the development and implementation of an effective brand strategy
  • Develops on brand- fundraising collateral, digital marketing tools and surveys, and determines marketing messages for all campaign related initiatives.
  • Develops, integrates and executes effective marketing campaigns that support United Way of Lower Mainland's work, including website optimization, video production, and mobile and online campaigns to engage and attract new donors.
  • Manages annual surveys on brand awareness.
  • Writes compelling and persuasive copy for a variety of channels and formats (blogs, websites, social media, and marketing collateral)
  • Supports consistency of United Way and any related messaging is easily understood and integrated throughout the organization and externally.
  • Leads contents development for uwlm.ca.
  • Partners closely with internal teams ensuring strategies are aligned to effectively deliver against KPI's and ensures relevant business goals are factored into marketing and communication projects.
  • In collaboration with BI team measures key statistics and analytics for digital platforms; interprets data and gain insights to continuously improve results.
  • Manages digital vendor relationship. Support the director in the selection of vendors and negotiation of terms.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Two years diploma in marketing or equivalent
  • Three (3) years experience in marketing and communications with a minimum of two years in brand marketing
  • Experience with in a non-profit or fundraising organization
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing communications strategies, campaigns and events
  • Skilled storyteller with highly developed writing and editing skills
  • Experience in developing brand campaigns and measuring effectiveness
  • Professional experience using social media for B2B marketing and business growth, and understanding of industry trends and e-commerce web tools; understanding of SEO concepts; familiarity with Google Apps and Google Analytics
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet tight timelines with great accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills
  • Able to interpret and translate data into actionable steps
  • Establishes long-term, collaborative relationships built on trust, respect and humility and openness
  • Takes initiatives and learns new concepts and skills
  • Some hours outside business hours to attend meetings and events.
