Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager, the Trade Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and building regional trade marketing plans, managing the A&P budget, and the submission of all new listing and programming applications to the liquor board. The Trade Marketing Specialist will also provide support to the team of Field Sales Representatives through the development of program and trade specific materials, updating price lists, creating sales reports, and facilitating transfer of sales tools.

THE ROLE:

  • Manage the regional liquor board's new listing process (NISS apps, SCEs, LEXAMs, Quote Letters, Compliance Letters, Sample Submission)
  • Liaise with Regional Sales Manager to ensure all samples and complete paperwork is delivered to the regional liquor board within specified deadlines
  • Set-up new listings within the internal pricing/product database
  • Request samples for new listing applications and clear samples from customs
  • Manage compliance through understanding of Canadian label standards
  • Manage promotional applications & calendars
  • Develop and build Regional Trade Marketing plans in conjunction with the Sales Manager and the Portfolio Manager to ensure programming supports sustainable volume growth objectives
  • Accurately manage regional Advertising and Promotional (A&P) budgets (Monthly, Quarterly updates)
  • Develop sales campaigns & programs; across regional channels (On-premise, Retail, Chain, Franchisee, and Monopoly). Optimize brand performance by developing innovative retail and on premise plans that link with the Canadian market strategy
  • Support the implementation of trade marketing plans by tracking performance of key outputs such as distribution, volume, margin, display, sampling, and other merchandising activities. (Program Evaluation)
  • Support the development of region specific creative files & programs
  • Responsible for the development of programs & trade specific sales materials such as sell sheets, on-packs, shelf talkers and feature cards
  • In partnership with TMS counterpart, maintain office services by organizing office operations, procedures, reviewing and approving all office supply needs
  • Maintain/improve office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems
  • Support for general office tasks as required. Set up of meetings etc

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in marketing or sales support, preferably in beer/wine/spirits industry
  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce or related from a recognized institution
  • Impeccable communication skills including presentation skills
  • Organized with proven ability to multitask & manage time effectively
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and develop
  • Able to work well independently and in a team
  • Strong Computer skills including MS Office
  • Available to travel and attend evening/ weekend events as necessary
