Crank's marketing team is looking for an SEO-savvy content marketer that has a passion for writing, a thirst for digital best practices and ideally, an awareness of embedded systems. You don't need to be a software engineering expert to write about touchscreen graphics or user interface best practices. We have enough of those internally for you to interview if need be! But you do need to have a willingness to research and collaborate with our internal SMEs, so that we can author fresh and engaging content that meets our SEO goals.

This position is based in Ottawa, Canada yet will operate as a remote role for the time-being due to COVID-19. It has the flexibility to remain as remote role, or a balance of both as negotiated.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

• Design content marketing strategies and set short, medium, and long-term goals for content
• Develop editorial calendar and ensure deadlines are met
• Research, outline, interview, draft, write and publish articles, emails, video and web content that support our web traffic goals
• Champion growth and impact so that each piece of content can read as many readers as possible
• Brainstorm and implement widespread promotion, outreach to influencers, bloggers and media publications
• Maintain our social media presence across all digital channels
• Generate eye catching creative assets like GIFs, videos, infographics in collaboration with in-house design teams
• Seek out potential story/photo/video opportunities that would bring the voice of the customer to life
• Optimize web and YouTube content considering SEO and Google Analytics
• Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)

WHAT YOU BRING TO CRANK:

• Post secondary degree in Business, Journalism, or equivalent
• At least 5 years related work experience working with search engine optimized content development
• Your colleagues would describe you as a Google Analytics and SEO expert
• Experience with a website CMS (preferably Hubspot) and web publishing platforms
• Expertise in social media practices and platforms
• Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and content marketing
• You might even know a little bit of coding

WHERE:

This position is based in Ottawa, Canada, but is available as a remote role. The right candidate can be located anywhere, but should be available to attend meetings during the EST timezone. Should you wish to come into the office to work in Ottawa, Canada once COVID-19 safety regulations make it possible, you will be welcomed.
